5.600kph meglev train

China is hoping to double the speed of the fastest trains we have today. According to reports, China could soon have maglev trains that run at speeds of 1000kph plying through tubes underground in a couple of years from now. Southwest Jiaotong University claims to be working on 500kph to 600kph trains now, which they could build to hit upwards of 1,000kph inside of vacuum tube where there’s no air friction. These smaller train models will be made with less use of steel and could be ready for daily use in about 10 years’ time, that not until an estimated 10 to 20 million yuan (approx. $2.95 million) has not been spent on the project.
